With the outbreak of World War I was accompanied by a shortage of small change coins, due to the fact that they are often made from high quality materials (gold, silver, etc.) which they wanted to hoard for themselves. This deficiency tried provinces, municipalities, cities and companies to oppose by putting emergency money in circulation. Although there had been a slight inflation of the war, but since 1922 filed even 100 marks than face value for the Notgeldausgaben no longer because the value of the Reichsmark loss progressed further and further. So far, they had lost more than half of their purchasing power, so you had to go to the issue of larger denominations. This phase lasted until around June 1923 and expanded in the so-called high inflation. The details of the bills and their variants, are brought up to date with fair market valuations, making this latest edition of the catalog for emergency money from August 1922 to June 1923 a must for any collector of German bank notes. Published 2010, 650 pages, black & white illustrations, paperback. WRITTEN IN GERMAN.
