The first edition was published in 1996, was an immediate success and quickly sold out. For the second edition of this book the RPM, OMM and Doubled Die sections were completely overhauled. New pictures, information and new die varieties were added. Flynn added many new archive documents, many of which have been previously unpublished. This greatly helped update the history section of the book. A few experts in the Lincoln Cent series also added their expertise in the collecting and investing aspects of Lincoln Cents.
